Showing Gratitude

"Where's Mdm Lim?" all of my classmates wondered out loud as a relief teacher strolled into our classroom.

"She is sick and will not be back till next week." the relief teacher announced.

There was a chorus of groans as everybody began to mumble among themselves, saddened by the fact that Mdm Lim, our favorite teacher, would be missing the Teacher's Day Concert which we had all decided to participate in to show our immense gratitude to her for being compassionate to us.

"What if we make some cards of appreciation and put up our own performance just for Mdm. Lim after she has recovered to express our gratitude?" Lily, our class monitress, exclaimed.

"That's an amazing idea!" I chirped, wholeheartedly agreeing with Lily.

Together, we managed to pull together a skit and made cards for Mdm. Lim by ourselves, and even decided to surprise her!

The painfully long week was finally over and togeter together with my classmates, gathered beside the classroom door to surprise her with the cards of appreciation.

"Surprise!" everyone exclaimed in unison as Mdm. Lim walked into the classroom.

"Thank you all so much! I am touched by all the effort you put in for me. I'm so lucky to have you as students!" Mdm Lim said, joyfully hugging each and everyone of us.

"We are the ones that should be grateful to you!" Lily said with zeal.

"You always encourage us!" Leena stated in a firm voice.

Mdm. Lim was moved to tears due to her students showing how grateful to her they were.

It was really a eventful day that would be etched into everyone's mind for a long time to come.
